In 3250, all surface design techniques are explored via color and design prompts. Shibori and indigo dyeing offers the opportunity to explore light/dark contrast. Students are asked to explore value variation through the processes of bound, clamped and stitched resist. Multiple dips in the indigo bathes will darken the shades of blue. In the Fall of 2020, 3250 was held in a hybrid format on campus as well as remotely. Watch the video below to see our process.
