Each student in 3250 creates a natural dye swatch book, but the process of mordanting and dyeing fabric is a collaborative effort in which notes are shared. Some dyestuff comes from our HCD's natural dye garden. In the Fall of 2021, we harvested goldenrod which was growing in abundance around Ithaca. I coordinated with the Cornell Botanic Gardens to harvest fresh black walnut hulls as well.
